Gary Cohn, Donald Trump’s top economic adviser, is done! Through! He has put his foot down and is resigning from his post as head of the National Economic Council, according to The New York Times.
Cohn, a former Goldman Sachs man and all-around shitty guy, had been pushing back hard over Trump’s impending plan to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. It was a battle that he was clearly losing, so it is now with a heavy heart that he can no longer serve the President of the United States.
Remember when Cohn conspicuously decided not to resign after Trump blamed “both sides” and refused to condemn the white supremacists who marched in Charlottesville and murdered Heather Heyer? The Times reported that friends of Cohn said he was “anguished” by Trump’s remarks.
Apparently he was more anguished by tariffs.
