Congresswoman Powerfully Condemns Family Separations, Declaring 'This Is Abuse'

Representative Pramila Jayapal, a Democrat from Washington, offered a powerful condemnation of the Trump administration’s practice of separating families at the border on the floor of Congress.

“These children are sitting in cages on the border in tent cities,” she said. “This is the bottom. This is abuse. It is a human rights violation. ... What is this country coming to?”
