Roma Downey, the former star of the soap opera Touched By An Angel, has a new book out. You may have heard about the book, Box of Butterflies, because the president, a noted book lover, tweeted about it Wednesday at 5:44 a.m.
According to the book’s website, Box of Butterflies is “a beautiful book filled with encouragement and hope, assuring us of God’s comforting presence in our lives.” Howard Books, a Christian imprint of Simon & Schuster, is publishing the book.
Downey is married to Mark Burnett, a television executive who infamously refused to release behind-the-scenes footage from The Apprentice a month before the 2016 presidential election, even after the release of the damning Access Hollywood video. Burnett was head producer and creator of The Apprentice, which made Trump a household name in reality TV over 14 seasons.
Before the election, Burnett criticized Trump for “the hatred, division and misogyny that has been a very unfortunate part of his campaign.” But he refused to go so far as to release the tapes—which could contain further damaging evidence of Trump’s offscreen behavior—because he claimed it violated a clause in Trump’s contract with MGM.
Now, the president is promoting Burnett’s wife’s book to his 48 million Twitter followers. What a nice gesture! It must be a really good book!
