Rudy Giuliani has screwed up so many times, it’s fairly incredible that he’s still working for Donald Trump. But his latest gaffe may be the breaking point. On CNN with Chris Cuomo tonight, Giuliani seemed to suggest that his previous assertions that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia was... not true.
Giuliani told Cuomo that he “never said there was no collusion between the [Trump] campaign” and Russia, only that Trump himself didn’t participate in the collusion.
“If the collusion happened, it happened a long time ago,” he added.
Well then, no harm no foul I guess!
This interview came amid new reports that former Trump campaign manager and convicted criminal Paul Manafort gave polling data to Konstantin Kilimnik, a Ukrainian political operative thought to have ties to Russia’s intelligence community.
On air, Giuliani waffled bizarrely between saying there was no collusion, that there may have been collusion but Trump was not involved, and defending his own past statements about whether or not there was collusion.
“It’s either provable or it’s not. It’s not provable because it never happened... There’s no chance it happened with the president of the United States,” he said. “I have no idea what other people were doing.”
Well, that settles that!
