How to get the media to mention the massacre in Nigeria

While the media has recently fixated on major tragedies like the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris and a string of lost commercial airplanes and passengers, mainstream outlets have largely failed to cover the mass murder of Nigerian civilians, widespread destruction of property and displacement of tens of thousands of people by the terror terror group Boko Haram. Why aren't more outlets paying attention?
