President Donald Trump’s latest sideshow freak, Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City who is increasingly loathed each day, decided to spend Memorial Day—his 74th birthday—at a Yankees game.
As the announcer alerted the crowd to his presence and wished Giuliani a happy birthday over the PA system, “Thunderous boos rained across the stadium,” reporter Adrian Carrasquillo tweeted. Or, as the New York Post described it, New Yorkers wished Rudy a “crappy birthday.”
Apparently, not many Yankees fans take kindly to Giuliani’s new role as Trump’s televised mouthpiece, in which his primary responsibility seems to be to discredit Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russia, the president, and members of his 2016 campaign ahead of November’s midterm elections.
Great job, Rudy!
