Walking dead take over Mexico City in charitable zombie apocalypse

Mexico’s zombie march has become an annual craze that draws thousands of costumed chilangos shuffling and dragging down the street in a charity walk that encourages folks to donate canned goods to help those in need (or perhaps to stockpile supplies for the real zombie apocalypse).

During last weekend's march, Mexicans turned out dressed in all sorts of costumes with pop culture zombie references ranging from hit video game Resident Evil to AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Event organizers also launched the hashtag #MarchaZombieMx so that Mexican zombies could tweet out some of their scariest selfies.
